There are a lot of attachments available, specifically designed for this router. This is the first router I've ever owned or used. The instructions are a little daunting at first, but it all makes sense in the end. It's great. I was surprised at how vibration free it was, quiet and powerful it was cutting through wood. This router has lived up to my expectations, after very thorough and careful prior research. I reviewed all the top brands, and this one came out on top for me: before and after.
The manuals say that an attachment is available, but it is nearly impossible to find one in stores or on the web. This is a fine router but has some major shortcomings despite all the accolades expressed by other users. A router by it's very nature is a very messy operation and to have no built in dust collector and no easily obtainable attachment is a serious drawback. First, the plunge action could be a lot smoother.Springs are much too rigid for smooth action. Second, it has no built - in dust collection system. Lastly, because of the rather rough plunge action some accuracy is sacrificed. This is not a good tool for overall moulding or fine furniture making.
This router is my workhorse for hand held routing. And for hand-held operations, this router has a feature that many do not, a trigger type on/off switch on the handle. Adjustments are friendly, it is well balanced and has a very smooth plunge. It has plenty of power yet is relatively light weight. This provides great control in router operations and is safer also. Dual base router kits lack this important feature.
I ordered this product over a month ago. I got an email saying it is on backorder and it will be a couple of weeks. I never recieved this item.
I have several routers, and this one is my main one used always. This is my 3rd Bosch EV. This one is much quieter, and the ergonomic design is right for me. My other one had survived serious use over the past years, and still working today. I haighly recommend this unit over the rest.
